Don't worry if you need a bit of help with registering – just look down this page for your problem, and it should soon all be sorted out.
Trying to register
When you register as a new member, you need to fill in a form. You
must fill in the boxes marked with an asterisk; the others are optional. When you're filling in your address, sometimes when you click on the 'address finder' button after you've typed in the first line of your address and your postcode, the system cannot find your address. If it doesn't fill it in for you, just type it in yourself. Make sure you type your postcode with its spaces as it officially appears, eg SW1 1AA, not SW11 AA or SW11AA. Finally, click the 'submit' button.
When you type in your phone number, don't include any hyphens, dashes or brackets - just type in the number itself.
If you see a blank page, it may be because Javascript is not enabled on your computer. Javascript is a type of software that your computer needs in order for you to see some part of the site properly. Click here to find out how to do this.
Trying to log in
Once you've registered, when you come back on the site, you may be asked for your username and password. Your username is the email address you used to sign up with, and the password is the password you chose then.
Forgotten your password?
If you've forgotten your password – it happens to all of us from time to time! – click on 'Forgotten your password? Click here' and click on the 'Submit' button – and your password will be automatically sent to the email address you used to register on Allaboutyou.
Is my password for Allaboutyou the same as my password for the discussion boards (Talking Point)?
No, you need different details for Allaboutyou and the discussion boards on Talking Point. For Allaboutyou you need your email address and password. For Talking Point (our discussion boards) you need your username and password. For help with the discussion boards, click here.
